I’ve gotten a few looks since my son began wearing this swimming device, and up until recently, I threw puddle jumpers on my kids too. What I love about this instead of a puddle jumper is that it gives kids freedom to actually move their arms and therefore practice swimming. As they become more confident, you remove a layer with the idea they will eventually swim without any layers. One month ago, my son started with four layers, and now he is down to two. I am all about giving my kids as much supervised practice swimming as possible. I discovered this device at swim lesson class my son took through the YMCA. (Which was very different than my daughter’s first swim lesson. If you haven’t already, please read our near-drowning story to protect your family). Two fins up for this swimming device!
